Sony shut’s down support for PlayStation Mobile on Android

PlayStation_Mobile_(2012)

Yesterday evening I posted a link to an article from The Verge on our Facebook page, which apparently has created some concerns in our small community.

According to the article, Sony will no longer provide technical support for PlayStation Mobile on new devices running Android.

The PlayStation Mobile  service was Sony’s attempt to help independent game developers to create content for mobile devices running Android OSThe service was announced for the first time in 2012.

Therefore, devices with Android 4.4.3 and above, will not receive any kind of support, and the folks at Sony do not guarantee that the games will run as expected.

Sony will no longer provide PlayStation certificates for new phones and tablets, and will not support the new Android L OS.

Those who have devices running a version of Android lower than 4.4.3, can still enjoy the games available on PlayStation Mobile.
