This image is a colorful promotional banner for “Nintendo Music,” featuring several beloved Nintendo characters and musical elements that represent the whimsical and adventurous spirit of Nintendo games. The background is a bold, solid red, which makes the central elements stand out. At the bottom of the image, the words “Nintendo Music” are displayed in large, white, bold text. A musical note sits just to the left of the text, adding a playful touch. Scattered around the characters and text are floating musical notes in white, creating a dynamic and energetic feel, as if the characters are moving to the rhythm of Nintendo’s iconic game soundtracks. In the center of the image, seven vertical, rounded rectangular frames (like tall, rounded capsules) showcase a variety of Nintendo characters, each representing a different game franchise. These frames are arranged side-by-side in a slight arc, each one in a contrasting, vibrant background color to highlight the character within. Here’s a closer look at each frame from left to right: 1. Donkey Kong: The leftmost frame features Donkey Kong, set against a vibrant pink background. The character is portrayed with his familiar, muscular build, broad smile, and signature red necktie with the yellow “DK” logo. His pose is dynamic, with one arm raised as if he’s about to pound his chest, capturing his playful, rugged personality. 2. Inkling from Splatoon: Next is an Inkling character from Splatoon, positioned against a light purple background. The Inkling is dressed in a sporty outfit and holds a weapon that shoots colorful ink, poised as if mid-battle in the game’s chaotic, paint-splattered world. The character’s expression and stance radiate confidence and attitude, embodying the edgy, competitive vibe of Splatoon. 3. Tom Nook and Isabelle from Animal Crossing: In the third frame, with a soft blue background, we see two characters from Animal Crossing: Tom Nook and Isabelle. Tom Nook, the raccoon, is dressed in his iconic Hawaiian shirt and has a gentle, businesslike expression, while Isabelle, the friendly dog, stands beside him in her cheerful pink outfit, smiling warmly. This frame exudes the cozy, community-focused atmosphere of Animal Crossing. 4. Mario: At the center of the image is Mario, the iconic plumber, set against a light blue background. Mario is mid-wave, wearing his classic red hat with the “M” emblem, blue overalls, and white gloves. His enthusiastic smile and cheerful demeanor capture his role as Nintendo’s upbeat, adventurous mascot. 5. Link from The Legend of Zelda: The next frame features Link from The Legend of Zelda, against a sky-blue background. Link is shown in action, with a focused expression as he aims a bow and arrow, wearing his familiar blue Champion’s Tunic. This frame embodies the sense of heroism, mystery, and exploration that defines The Legend of Zelda series. 6. Pikmin: The sixth frame, with a green background, displays three colorful Pikmin characters from the Pikmin series. The blue, red, and yellow Pikmin each have a unique sprout or flower on their heads. They are small, curious, and whimsical creatures, symbolizing the cooperative and puzzle-solving elements of the Pikmin games. 7. Samus Aran from Metroid: On the far right is Samus Aran, the heroine of Metroid, set against a pale yellow-green background. Samus is clad in her iconic, armored Power Suit, complete with her arm cannon. She stands ready for action, with a fierce, determined stance, representing the intense, sci-fi exploration and combat of the Metroid series. Overall, this banner combines visual elements that represent both the characters and the music of Nintendo’s iconic games. Each character, setting, and color is carefully chosen to reflect the unique world and feeling of each game franchise, celebrating Nintendo’s legacy of creativity and fun through music and imagery.

The app is already number one on Apple App Store so I guess that Nintendo just struck a gold mine with this one. I wanted access to Nintendo soundtracks for many years now and I’m happy to be able to enjoy them whenever and wherever I am.

For my blind friends, the app is usable, but there are some labeling issues when it comes to buttons, which can raise some problems for voiceover users. I reached out to Nintendo about these issues and I hope they will update the app at some point in the future. Regardless of that, it is truly magical to be able to listen to these soundtracks on the go.
