I will be a Judge for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2026

Hello, dear readers and friends. It is my privilege to let you all know that I will be one of the judges for Innovation in Accessibility at The Game Awards 2026.
This is still hard to believe as I would have never thought that my work as an accessibility journalist will ever be noticed by Geoff Keighley, one of the most important people in the Gaming Industry. Although I know about this honor for a few months now, just last week I was allowed to share it with the Accessibility and Disability community.
I am just humbled by this opportunity and I vow to not stop advocating for our cause to publishers and developers until every game released is accessible for us blind folks.
Who would have thought that a visually impaired journalist from Romania, who started writing about games in 2010 and built the largest PlayStation community for fans on Facebook, would lose his sight in 2013, move to Norway in 2021, start advocating for accessibility, get a job helping disabled people every day, and now become a Judge at The Game Awards?!?
If you read this, thank you, and if you have a dream, like I do, to make the world better for everyone, all I can say to you is to never stop dreaming and when a dream comes true, be happy and dream some more.
I hope that I have inspired at least one person to follow their path, just like I was inspired by my dearly departed friend Brandon Cole and by Ian Hamilton.
Now, back to The Game Awards.
Although I was invited to Los Angeles for the Award ceremony, we, Alina and I, decided that we will enjoy the show online and I will do my work remotely.
Thank you Geoff, thank you The Game Awards, thank you to everyone who has been part of my accessibility journey and last, but definitely not least, thank you to Alina for being my guiding light, helping hand, and better half all these years.
Congrats to all the publishers and devs that make accessibility a priority in their games and thank you to fellow judges for welcoming me so warmly to the panel.
The Game Awards takes place on December 10 in Los Angeles and I can’t wait to watch it, especially since most probably it will include audio descriptions, just like in the last few years.
Happy gaming everyone!
