The LEGO Group announces new collaboration with Pharrell Williams to inspire everyone to unleash their limitless creative potential

The image depicts a whimsical scene made entirely of LEGO bricks. It shows a city street with tall buildings on either side, their windows glowing warmly as if lit from within. In the center, a LEGO space shuttle is launching into the sky, leaving a colorful trail of rainbow-like exhaust behind it. The scene is set during twilight, with a full moon visible in the sky. In the foreground, there are blurred figures of LEGO people watching the launch, adding a sense of scale and wonder to the scene. The overall atmosphere is playful and imaginative.

The LEGO Group has today announced a new collaboration with visionary artist and designer Pharrell Williams, inspiring everyone to unlock their creativity and unleash their limitless potential through LEGO Play.

Today’s announcement also sees the release of a new LEGO set designed in collaboration with Pharell. Over the Moon is a space shuttle with a golden canopy and a vibrant jet stream of colors. For Pharrell, the infinity of space was the first catalyst for his imagination, showing him that there are no limits to what we can explore.

Pharrell believes that curiosity and creativity are essential life forces in all of us and credits them as the building blocks of his success. The LEGO Group is proud to partner with Pharrell to encourage people of all ages to use play and building to share their stories.

Over the Moon is made up of three parts, with each holding a special meaning for Pharrell. The black-and-gold shuttle symbolizes limitless potential, taking off and transporting you anywhere you can imagine. The bright and vibrant colours of the jet stream symbolize the imagination, creativity, and power of play to fuel your way. And finally, befitting Pharrell’s relentless pursuit to push boundaries and ensure that everyone can feel represented and seen, the LEGO Over the Moon set features the widest range of minifigure skin tones included in a LEGO product, with seven in total. 51 different minifigure heads are included, over 30 of which have been designed specifically for this set.

The image shows a close-up of a LEGO minifigure sitting inside a cockpit. The minifigure has brown skin and is wearing a red cap. It is dressed in a dark outfit with some yellow and white details on the torso. The cockpit is filled with various controls and levers, and the background is illuminated with colorful lights, creating a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere. The perspective is from the front, looking directly at the minifigure.

The new set also includes several brand-new color-piece combos, created specifically for this project, such as the custom-made windscreen canopy made in drum-lacquered gold color for the first time ever.

The launch of Over the Moon comes ahead of the release of Focus Features’ PIECE BY PIECE, which will debut in US theatres on 11 October, and internationally beginning 6 November. Directed by Academy Award® winning filmmaker Morgan Neville and featuring new original music from Pharrell, PIECE BY PIECE is a unique cinematic experience that invites audiences on a vibrant journey through the life of cultural icon Pharrell Williams. Developed from Pharrell’s singular vision, PIECE BY PIECE defies genres and expectations to transport audiences into a LEGO® world where anything is possible.

The LEGO Over the Moon set will be available to purchase at www.LEGO.com and in LEGO stores from September 20, 2024, bringing boundless fun to curious individuals everywhere.
