Lego reports new record profit for first half of 2026

Today, the LEGO Group reported financial results for the first half of 2026, with revenue and operating profit both growing double digits and building on a record performance in 2025. The company continued to grow significantly ahead of the global toy market, gaining market share. Consumer sales growth was driven by high levels of demand for its strong portfolio, which appeals to builders of all ages and interests, as well as excellent execution around the world.
Niels B Christiansen, CEO, said: “We are very pleased with our strong start to 2026 and the excitement we see for the LEGO brand. Our portfolio of products offers something for everyone, and culturally relevant brand experiences continue to drive demand across the globe. Our success in the market means we can maintain high investment levels in growth and sustainability for both the short and long term.
“It’s been a real highlight to see the passion and commitment of our 34,000 colleagues in our organisation who work to inspire kids and fans everywhere.”
In the first six months, revenue increased by 21% to DKK 41.9 billion, up from DKK 34.6 billion in H1 2025, driven particularly by strong momentum in the Americas, Western Europe, CEEMEA* and Asia Pacific. Consumer sales grew by 22%.
Operating profit increased 22% to DKK 10.9 billion, driven by strong top-line performance, scale efficiencies and successful productivity initiatives. This was achieved while the company maintained significant spending on strategic initiatives, including sustainability. Net profit grew 32% to DKK 8.6 billion, against DKK 6.5 billion in the same period of 2025.
Cash flow from operating activities increased by 47% to DKK 8.6 billion, compared with DKK 5.9 billion in H1 2025. The company increased investments in building a new factory as well as expanding and upgrading existing facilities to DKK 4.6 billion against DKK 4.2 billion in H1 2025. It also invested DKK 1.9 billion to acquire 29 LEGO and LEGOLAND Discovery Centres from Merlin Entertainments, which attract around five million visitors annually. This resulted in free cash flow of DKK 2.1 billion, compared to DKK 1.7 billion the previous year.
Innovating the LEGO brand and play experiences
In the first half of 2026, the LEGO Group launched over 330 new products. Bestselling themes reflected a mix of homegrown and entertainment IPs, including LEGO® Speed Champions, LEGO® Botanicals, LEGO® Technic™, LEGO® Icons and LEGO® Star Wars™.
Sporting and entertainment partnerships helped build strong consumer excitement, including Formula 1®, FIFA World Cup 2026™ and KPop Demon Hunters.
The company launched the LEGO® SMART Play™ platform built on innovative technology that brings more interactive LEGO play experiences to families, marking a significant development of the LEGO System in Play. So far, it has featured in LEGO® Star Wars™ and LEGO® Pokémon™.
LEGO® NINJAGO® celebrated its 15th anniversary with new sets, collaborations and events. Since launching in 2011, it has become the company’s longest-running homegrown entertainment IP and remains highly popular with fans globally.
Reflecting the continued strength of the LEGO brand, the LEGO Group was named the most reputable company by the RepTrak Company for the fourth consecutive year. It also launched the ‘Never Stop Playing’ campaign to celebrate the UN International Day of Play on 11 June and encourage families to bring more play into everyday life.
Creating memorable retail experiences
In the first half of 2026, the LEGO Group further strengthened collaboration with retail partners around the world, expanding its reach and introducing interactive in-store demos to showcase LEGO play innovations. The company opened new LEGO branded stores and now has a total of 1,106 stores worldwide.
Building a more sustainable future
The LEGO Group continued to make progress towards making LEGO bricks more sustainable and reducing its reliance on virgin fossil-based materials. Despite business growth, it increased the share of renewable and recycled materials bought to make LEGO bricks through significantly higher purchases of certified mass balance and physical content**.
The company also continued its multi year transition to paper based bags, aiming to convert the remaining packaging lines across all factories by 2027.
As part of its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the company is expanding solar capacity at all of its factories. In June, it began construction of its largest solar park to date in Billund, Denmark, which will feature 160,000 panels able to produce 99 GWh per year. The site will be operational in 2027 and is designed to match the company’s electricity needs in the town.
Expanding the global footprint
The LEGO Group continued to expand its global footprint and invest in upgrading workplaces. In June, it celebrated the opening of the Kornmarken Campus in Billund, its first dedicated global manufacturing innovation centre built alongside the existing factory. The 100,000 m² state-of-the-art workplace is home to over 1,800 colleagues working to develop, test and scale new manufacturing technologies.
To expand manufacturing and supply chain capacity, construction progressed on the new factory and regional distribution centre in Virginia, U.S., both of which remain on track to open in 2027.
