Meet Apple HomeView, a new way to enjoy entertainment, stay connected, and manage the home

Apple has announced Apple HomeView, a new smart home device that combines entertainment, communication and home management in a single product. Powered by Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI, HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, personalised experiences for household members, and voice-controlled smart home features.
HomeView is designed for both tabletop use and wall mounting. Its aluminium enclosure, stainless steel hinge and domed speaker base are available in four colours for the tabletop model: silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray. The wall-mounted version comes in space gray and silver. Both models feature the same display and audio capabilities.
One of HomeView’s main features is its ability to recognise up to six people and provide each person with a personalised Home Screen, including their own apps and widgets. Personal information remains private, while shared photo albums and music can be enjoyed by everyone in the household, including guests. Users can also make FaceTime calls, access Messages, Calendar, Reminders and Find My, and use Siri AI to obtain information or perform tasks.
Apple says the new Siri AI offers more conversational interactions, broader world knowledge, onscreen awareness and personal context understanding when paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad. It can use relevant information from apps such as Calendar and Messages to provide more personalised responses and help users carry out actions across apps. Conversations started on HomeView can continue in the Siri app across compatible Apple devices.
HomeView also functions as a smart home control centre. Users can adjust lights and thermostats, lock doors, close blinds and view camera feeds using the touchscreen or voice commands. Its Home Camera interface can display up to nine video feeds simultaneously. With a supported iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, the device can provide encrypted recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles, as well as notifications when someone arrives at the front door. Video descriptions for HomeKit Secure Video footage can help users understand recorded events without watching the clips.
For entertainment, HomeView features a custom-engineered audio system with two full-range drivers in the display, a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base. Apple says computational audio continuously adjusts loudness and bass response. Users can listen to Apple Music with animated album artwork and lyrics, as well as Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps. Handoff also allows users to continue listening to audio from their iPhone by bringing the phone close to the HomeView display.
Apple has also highlighted the environmental considerations behind the product. HomeView uses 100 per cent recycled aluminium in its base and in the enclosure of the wall-mounted model, recycled gold plating and tin solder in Apple-designed printed circuit boards, and recycled rare earth elements in all magnets. Its paper packaging is entirely fibre-based and designed to be recycled.
Pre-orders begin October 13 in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India and New Zealand, with availability starting November 13. Customers in Singapore can pre-order from October 15, while availability in South Africa begins November 13 through Apple Authorised Resellers.
Both tabletop and wall-mounted HomeView models are priced at $299 in the United States. The wall-mounted model requires a separate mount, with options from Schneider Home. The USB-C wall connector starts at $59.95, the AC wired mount at $79.95, and the PoE wired mount is planned for early 2027 at $129.95.
Apple HomeView will not be available for sale in the European Union at launch because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU. Apple says it is working with the EU to find a way forward. Siri AI on HomeView will initially be available in English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Canadian French support is planned for a future free software update.
