Owlchemy Labs introduces new and exciting Vision Accessibility features for VR title Cosmonious High

Hello dear gamers. The nice folks at Owlchemy Labs announced the Vision Accessibility Update for Cosmonious High, a colorful virtual reality title available on fQuest 2, PlayStation VR2 and Steam VR! This update adds Blind and Low Vision Accessibility features that allow players to receive game information through audio descriptions using Text To Speech (TTS). Marked as “Vision Assistance Mode” in the game, it allows high contrast and object-highlighting outlines for players with low vision.
Accessibility for people who are legally blind and have low vision is an area that hasn’t been developed, and with “VR for Everyone” being one of Owlchemy’s key pillars they felt it was essential to take on this challenge. Cosmonious High is the first VR game to have these features and they are so proud of the strides they’ve made in unsolved areas of accessibility in VR including subtitles, physical accessibility and height accessibility.
I have access to the game and will try it out very soon. As I said in my review for the PSVR2, we have a great virtual reality headset, but we still need accessible experiences that will allow disabled gamers to feel like superheroes. Let’s hope this is just the beginning for what will become a industry-standard soon.
Happy Gaming everyone!
I invite you to check out the above embedded video and also to read the official blog post.
Happy gaming everyone
