PlayStation Network under attack, again
In the last few days, Sony’s PlayStation Network keeps going down and after a few hours is back again. What is happening?
Well, it seems some kids, that don’t have anything better to do, are spaming the network with Distributed Denial of Services attacks (DDoS)
This Sunday, PSN was down for more than 10 hours, and today it took them over 4 hours to get back online.
Sony is not the only company that’s affected by these attacks, Battle.net, League of Legends and other online games were targeted as well.
The last Tweet from Sony, regarding this problem, was:
PlayStation Network connectivity is being restored. Thanks for your patience. 26/08/14 18:54
Here are some Tweets from today’s crisis:
PlayStationEU Network connectivity is being restored to the rest of the network. Thanks for your patience again. 26/08/14 18:49
PlayStation Network update: engineers are aware of connectivity issues, are working to resolve. We’ll keep you posted – apologies for the inconvenience 26/08/14 17:43
PlayStationEU Thanks for your patience. PS3 sign in is now possible, and we’re continuing to look into issues on PS4. Thanks again. 26/08/14 18:29
Let’s hope next time it will take them less time to fight the attacks.
