Hello everyone. With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas approaching fast, we are officially in the Winter Holidays season. As such, the time has come for all major outlets to release their new movies in order to capitalize on this special occasion.
Apple has made available to Apple TV+ subscribers their highly anticipated musical Spirited, another comedic take on Charles Dickens’ renowned A Christmas Carol.
This is a heartwarming reimagining of Charles Dickens’ ageless tale of a grumpy and seemingly irredeemable Scrooge visited by four ghosts on Christmas Eve, but much funnier and made modern for today’s audiences. Starring multiple award-winning and talented actors like Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer, Spirited managed to put a smile upon our faces from the first minute and kept it there until the very end. The story is a relatable one, the characters are well-developed, the banter between the actors is excellent, the cinematography is beautiful, and the music is catchy. You can imagine a bunch of ghosts trying to do whatever they can in order to redeem the soul of a really bad person. That’s all I’m willing to tell you about the plot.
Also, I must tell you that the songs are created by The Greatest Showman composers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, so prepare yourselves for some good vibes and one or two sing-alongs.
The audio description track is very good, the narration doesn’t intrude and offers the right amount of information at all times. I watched Spirited last week alongside Alina and we both liked it a lot.
So, if you want to start your holidays on a high note, don’t hesitate to give Spirited a chance. Also, I recommend that you watch the Trailer embedded above in order to see if this musical / comedy is something that you’d like.
Tell me, do you watch musicals? Which one is your favorite? Alina and I are in love with The Greatest Showman, but we also liked Hamilton, Come From Away and In The Heights.
