Hello friends! Hope everyone is having a good start of the week.

As probably all of you know already, the Uncharted movie featuring Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, and Antonio Banderas has been released in theaters during the weekend and according to the latest reports, it seems that the most recent Sony Pictures adventure has been a blockbuster at the box office.

Being the huge Uncharted fans that we are, Alina and I took the time yesterday afternoon and went to the cinema in order to enjoy the movie in the best way possible.

As we arrived at the Odeon cinema, we were completely surprised by the sheer number of people waiting to pick up their tickets and some snacks. We live in Oslo for more than seven months now, but we never seen so many people at the cinema. Luckily, the line moved very fast and in less than five minutes we had our tickets and, although we are on a Mediterranean keto protocol, we cheated and treated ourselves to some popcorn as well.

We opted for something called Screen X, a 4K screen with Dolby Atmos and with the action scenes extended to the left and to the right of the main screen.

Immediately after entering the cinema hall, we realized that we will enjoy our full house and Alina confirmed that there wasn’t even one empty spot when the film started.

Now, I need to get this off my chest right from the beginning. I was one of those who didn’t have any expectations from this movie. I thought that the casting wasn’t appropriate, that probably the script would be bad, and I was convinced that the movie will flop.

Well, I’m really happy to let you all know that I was completely wrong!
I can confirm that the Uncharted movie is good! The actors are doing a great job, there is chemistry between Nate and Sully, there is also a lost treasure and a mystery surrounding Drake’s brother, Sam.

This is definitely an origins story for all our beloved characters and although it changes the way the dynamic duo meets in the video games, I think it’s actually a good thing and that it expands the Uncharted universe.
The movie both open and closes with some classic Uncharted moments and throughout the adventure it manages to look and feel just the right way.

The action moves swift and fast from a museum in Boston to a bar in New York, to an auction house in London, to the bustling streets of Barcelona and after that all the way to some secluded island in the Philippines.

A race against the clock for the treasure unravels mysteries and hidden secrets. As always, Nate, Sully and Chloe are chased by some ruthless individuals, one of them being a character brought to life by Antonio Banderas. Exotic locations, huge set pieces, heists, fights, chases and the always present double-crosses will delight and entertain any Uncharted fan.

Because I listen to the audiobook last week and I had everything nice and clear in my mind, it was really easy for me to understand the story and the action, although I didn’t have access to audio descriptions. Alina tells me that the movie looks excellent with emphasis put upon action scenes and with excellent special effects.

The soundtrack is good, it’s not the one from the video games, but when you will hear a few notes from the main theme it will probably give you goosebumps, just like it did to us. There is also a cameo in the movie that put a huge smile upon our faces.

So, in our opinion, the Uncharted movie is quite good, very entertaining, intense, filled with action and the classic Uncharted moments. Please don’t leave the cinema until you see the mid-credits scene, which sets up the next adventure that will make all Uncharted fans very happy.

I hope you enjoyed this review and that you will go to the cinema and watch the movie.
