Marvel’s Wolverine Returns at State of Play with a new, audio described, Gameplay Trailer and full Accessibility Details
During the latest State of Play presentation, Insomniac Games shared a new gameplay trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine, giving us a fresh look at the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive. The trailer features new story moments, characters, and plenty of Wolverine’s signature combat.
For blind and low vision players, the trailer is also available with audio descriptions, making it easier to follow the on-screen action and story elements.
Alongside the trailer, Insomniac Games has revealed all the accessibility features that will be included in the game.
Insomniac has built a strong reputation for accessibility with its recent games, and it looks like Marvel’s Wolverine will continue that approach when it launches on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026.

GAMEPLAY ASSISTS
- First Time User Experience – When the game is first booted up, this menu allows for full customization before the game begins
- Motor Preset – Apply presets for a mix of different Motor options
- (NEW) Lock-On: Off/On-Screen/All – Set lock-on behavior to target nearest enemies
- Challenge Level options – Adjust the overall challenge level for gameplay
- Stealth Awareness – Adjusts how quickly enemies detect in stealth
- Enemy Health – Adjusts the health of enemies
- Enemy Damage – Adjusts damage dealt by enemies
- Dodge/Parry Input Timing – Sets the amount of time available to successfully Dodge and Parry enemy attacks
- (NEW) Dodge Mode – Sets the style of dodge between Default, Single Tap, Continuous Hold, or Toggle
- “Default” is Single tap to Dodge; Double Tap to Roll.
- Chase Assist – Toggles reduced movement speed for targets during chase sequences
- (NEW) Navigation Assist – Shows a direction trail towards nearest enemy or mission objective
- (NEW) Navigation Assist Color – Set color for navigation trail
- (NEW) Navigation Assist Turn Speed– Adjust how quickly the camera turns toward the goal when using Navigation Assist
- (NEW) Traversal Assist – Toggles whether inputs are removed for climbing, jumping, and moving between traversal elements
- Global Game Speed – Slow the game down between 100% / 70% / 50% / 30%
- (NEW) Combat Game Speed – Sets speed of the game during stealth and active combat between 100% / 70% / 50% / 30%
- QTE Autocomplete – Toggles whether or not Quick Time Event sequences advance automatically without a button press
- Repeated Button Presses Settings – Set the input behavior for on-screen button prompt sequences between Taps or Hold
- UI Holds Settings – Sets the activation behavior for the UI prompts requiring button holds, such as Suit and Technique purchases between Hold/Toggle
- (NEW) Sprint Mode – Sets the style of Sprint control between Hold, Toggle Hold, Toggle Release, Auto
- Auto Sprint Delay – Sets duration time before Sprint Mode: Auto engages
- Sprint Overrides Crouch – Toggles whether Sprint automatically overrides crouch
- (NEW) Special Techniques Mode – Sets behavior of Special Techniques between Hold/Toggle
- Melee Mode – Sets the style of melee control in combat between Single, Combo, Continuous
- Touch Pad Active In Combat – Toggles whether the Touch Pad will bring up menus during combat
- Mission Waypoint Display –Sets the visibility Mission Waypoint icons between On / R3 Hint / Off
- Tutorials – Sets the frequency in which tutorial messages appear
- (NEW) Enable Reminders – Toggles visibility of periodic UI reminders
- Skip Puzzle – Choose to skip puzzles in the game

MOTION SENSITIVITY
- Motion Sensitivity Preset – Apply presets for a mix of different Motion options
- Fullscreen Effects – Toggles the visibility of damage vignettes, intense flashing, and effects that impact large portions of the screen
- Motion Blur – Toggles visibility of the blurring effect created by camera motions and fast-moving objects
- Film Grain – Adjusts the intensity of the film grain visual effect
- Chromatic Aberration – Toggle the visibility of the material effect where colored fringes appear around objects slightly shifted and out of focus
- Depth of Field – Toggles the visibility of the blurring effect for objects that are farther away from the camera’s focal point
- Look Sensitivity – Adjust the camera control sensitivity while looking around.
- Invert Look Control – Sets the controls while using the camera to look around
- Camera Shake – Adjusts the intensity of the on-screen camera shake
- (NEW) Camera Rotation Effects – Adjusts additive camera rotation effects during traversal, combat and other aspects of gameplay
- Camera Follow – Sets whether the camera automatically adjusts when running and how quickly it does
- Combat Camera Rotation Assist – Toggles the camera to automatically rotate to assist with keeping enemies in view during combat
- Center Dot – Enables and sets the size of a persistent dot in the center of the screen to help provide a focal point
- (NEW) Center Dot Size – Enables and sets the size of a persistent dot in the center of the screen to help provide a focal point between Small, Medium, Large
- (NEW) Center Dot Color – Sets color of Center Dot
- (NEW) Center Dot Opacity – Sets the opacity of Center Dot between Light, Medium, Dark, Full

- Screen Reader – Toggles the read out of on-screen text for menus, tutorials, and notifications, support for English, *French, *Italian, *German, *Spanish (LatAm), *Spanish (Castilian) and Japanese
- Screen Reader Volume – Adjusts the volume of the Screen Reader
- (NEW) Screen Reader Speed – Sets the speed at which Screen Reader reads information between 100%, 150%, 200%, 300%, 400%
- (NEW) Screen Reader Verbosity – Sets the level of detail for Screen Reader between Default and Minimal

- Frequency Controls – Options for cutting off high and low frequencies, and softening a specific frequency range
- High Frequency Cutoff – Toggles the filtering out of all frequencies above 6,000Hz
- Notch Frequency Filter – Toggles the availability of the notch frequency filter slider to remove a specific frequency range
- Low Frequency Cutoff – Toggles the filtering out of all frequencies below 600 Hz
- Streaming Mode – Toggles the usage of licensed or composed music

- High Contrast Presets – Toggles a variety of options from four presets
- High Contrast Outlines Friendly – Applies a single solid colored outline on all friendly characters
- High Contrast Outlines Enemy – Applies a single solid colored outline on all enemy characters
- High Contrast Outline Thickness – Sets the thickness of the High Contrast Outlines for Friendlies and Enemies

- Hero Shader – Applies a solid single-color shader on the hero to improve visibility
