Warner Bros. Discovery Norway invited us to preview The Last of Us Season 2 and we loved it

Photo, A movie theater with a red-lit ambiance. The screen displays the title "The Last of Us" in large letters. The theater is filled with people seated in rows, some of whom are holding up their phones, possibly taking pictures or recording. The ceiling and walls have a modern design with angled panels, and the overall atmosphere is dimly lit with a red hue.

Every path has a price

Back when The Last of Us premiered for the very first time – two years ago now – I wrote about what it meant to be invited to a private screening. That article, which captured our first experience seeing this beloved story brought to life on the big screen, still means a lot to me.

Now, two years later, Alina and I found ourselves back in the cinema, once again invited by Warner Bros. Discovery Norway, this time for the Season Two premiere. And once again, it felt just as special. Maybe even more.

We were among the first in the world to watch the opening episode of Season Two, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience.

The moment we stepped into the cinema, the atmosphere was electric. This wasn’t just another screening, it felt like a celebration. Everyone there was connected by a shared love for the world of The Last of Us, its characters, its music, and its heartbreak.

We were greeted with popcorn, water, and a very cool gift: mini flashlights on keychains, all branded with The Last of Us. Small details like this go a long way. They show just how much thought went into making the night feel special.

Now, although I’m totally blind and didn’t request an audio description headset, because honestly, I just forgot to ask if such a thing was available, it didn’t matter. My connection to the source material is deep, and that, combined with the incredible performances on screen, helped me understand everything that was happening.

Pedro Pascal. Bella Ramsey. And the rest of the cast are doing phenomenal work! Their delivery, their timing, their emotional presence, it’s visceral. The pacing of the episode is slow, deliberate, filled with tension. You just know something is coming. And by the time the final frame hits, you feel it in your gut.

The music, once again, is haunting and beautiful. Gustavo Santaolalla’s compositions wrap around each scene like a second layer of storytelling. It’s chilling. It’s emotional. It’s perfect.

Getting invited to these private previews is something I’ll never take for granted. To be surrounded by fellow fans, to be welcomed so warmly, and to feel included in these special moments, it means the world.

So thank you, Warner Bros. Discovery Norway, thank you for the invite, for the care, and also thank you HBO for continuing to bring this incredible story to life in a way that respects its roots and honors its fans.

This first episode shows me, once again, that the show is in very good hands. And for those who haven’t played the games, buckle up! You’re in for some huge surprises.

The Last of Us returns with its second season on April 14, only on Max.
