Entertainment Review: Severance – Apple TV+

Hello, dear friends! Apple TV+ continues to delight, thrill, and entertain viewers with original stories that capture our imagination and force us to think outside the box. From CODA, to Amazing Stories to See and now to the recently released Severance, Apple is at the forefront of both home and big screen entertainment.
Severance is one of those shows that will grab you by the scruff of the neck in the first surreal episode and will not let go until the shocking season finale. But, rest assured, Apple has renewed the series for season 2.
Severance is a one-of-a-kind workplace thriller from director and executive producer Ben Stiller, starring Patricia Arquette alongside Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Christopher Walken.
In Severance we follow Mark Scout (Adam Scott) as he leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. An original and superbly implemented idea that is definitely not what it seems at first glimpse.
This is without a doubt a daring experiment in ‘work-life balance. But everything is called into question as Mark finds himself the middle of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work and everything else that he thinks about life in general.
Sharp writing, vivid performances by the amazing actors, a balanced pacing, the moody soundtrack, superb direction and beautiful cinematography make Severance unique, gripping, thought-provoking and unpausable!
Alina and I, plus all of our friends who have watched the first season, loved it and can’t wait to get back into this fictional universe which at some point could become reality. Severance will make you ask yourself interesting questions and look at the screen in disbelief. The first season has nine episodes that will explore the interpersonal relationships of the characters split between their work selves and home selves ;). Trust me, you’ll be blown away by this show and you’ll be left wanting more.
Let me know what you think about Severance, if you had the opportunity to watch it already.
